Digital Camera: White Balance

White balance is a control on digital cameras that can give you the opportunity to correct photos. It also provides an avenue for creativity in your photos.

The camera makes all the white and neutral colors in a scene look neutral. Sometimes the automatic control will over compensate for differences and make a photo lack the element of warmth you may desire. You can adjust or correct this by adjusting your white balance after checking your LCD monitor to see how much adjustment you need.

You can imagine that it is difficult for a digital camera to automatically adjust to something as constantly changing as color in a scene.
