Digital Camera: Printer Resolution

Printer resolution is a separate function from your digital camera resolution. A printer allows different resolutions to be set. It will automatically choose the proper dpi setting based on the paper used. This is only if you have chosen the appropriate paper setting within your printer drive.

A high dpi will usually print better small details as the variations in color are less perceptible. 1200-1500 dpi results in a high enough quality that any higher dpi is not that noticeable as a difference. Higher dpi causes slower printing.

Printer resolution is separate from your digital camera resolution but affects your ultimate printed result.
