Digital Camera: JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group)

The file from your digital camera can be save in JPEG format. This format compresses the file into a smaller version with extreme detail.

By compressing files with higher JPEG compression settings create files that can easily fit on the memory card. Be careful not to overly compress, however, or some important data can be lost in the process.

Using low compression settings makes it easier to rebuild any lost data when the file is uncompressed later. While JPEG is a great technology, it is best to use quality settings as much of the time as possible.

JPEG helps your digital camera memory card hold more files at a time.
