Digital Camera: Exposure Lock

To help your digital camera lock in on what it sees you can press the shutter release button about halfway. This is a quick way to compensate for problem scenes.

For example, you might be shooting a scene with a child on a beach below where you are. A cliff could be darkly in the scene and the camera would keep focusing on the cliff. This would throw the meter off showing a loss of color from over-exposure.

Know your digital camera's features and maximize the results achieved.
