Digital
Camera: Erasing The Card
When erasing
a digital camera memory
card the image location or identification data is removed while
the image itself still remains. This is the data that told the computer
where the file was located for that particular image.
New photos can
overwrite the old image files and until then the old image could
be retrieved. Once the new photo overwrites and image, the old one
is gone and cannot be retrieved.
The digital
camera does not actually "erase" the memory card.
