Digital Camera: Downloading From Camera

Most digital cameras have a connection from the camera that allows images to be transferred to the computer. There are inherent risks in this process including depletion of the batteries.

You don't need to remove the memory card when downloading directly from your camera. One end of the cable goes into the computer port and the other goes into your digital camera. Most computers automatically recognize your camera and will help you make the transfer easily.

Once the images are transferred to the computer, they can be saved on your hard drive before erasing your memory card.
